Important Patient Safety Notice: 

As of Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, Temple Health has removed its universal masking requirement following a significant drop in COVID, flu, and RSV virus rates across the Health System. Surgical masks will no longer be required on Temple Health campuses, except in areas and circumstances where it is otherwise specified.

We will continue to monitor infection rates, which have decreased across the region, state, and nation, and will readjust our masking policy if necessary. 

The safety of our patients and staff is our highest priority. Our team of clinicians has implemented numerous safety protocols to protect our patients and staff, based on the guidelines of the CDC, local and federal government, and leading medical associations.

For the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff, weapons of any kind are not permitted at any Temple Health facility. 

Please be advised that Temple University Hospital — Main Campus, has implemented a new weapon detection screening system. This system is seamless for all those entering the facility — with no check-in line and no removal of items necessary — as it is designed to only identify weapons such as knives and guns so that they can be safely confiscated. This maintains a smooth process for all those coming into the hospital.  

Your cooperation in maintaining a safe environment for all is greatly appreciated. 

In order to support patient and staff safety, many appointments are now available through telemedicine. When an in-office appointment is not medically necessary, we encourage our patients to participate in appointments using telemedicine.
