5 million people suffering from heart failure - a frighteningly common but under recognized condition in which the heart muscles weaken and gradually lose ability to pump enough blood to supply the body’s needs.
Temple Heart & Vascular Institute will take part in Heart Failure Awareness week, which takes place February 12th-18th, by offering free heart failure educational sessions and cooking demonstration on Tuesday, February 14th, from 8:30am to 3:00 pm. This day will kick off at Temple University Hospital in the Erny Auditorium with educational session focused on:
- Heart Failure and Advanced Therapies
- Understanding your Heart Medications
- Knowing your Salt Intake
- Heart Healthy Diet
- Physical Activity & Cardiac Rehab
- Weight Management
The afternoon will begin with a Laughter Yoga session, held in Classroom C in the basement of Temple University Hospital, followed by a cooking demonstration and lunch in the same location. We also have a free raffle to give out many gifts that will help with a healthy life style. Breakfast and lunch are included.
