Crisis Response Canines Offer Support—and Snuggles—at TUH-Main Campus

View All News

At Temple Health, our team members spend their days (and nights) saving lives, which makes taking time to relax and decompress all the more important. That’s why we’re always so thrilled to have the Crisis Response Canines visit our campuses, like they do each month at TUH-Main.

NATIONAL Crisis Response Canines works alongside the patient care teams, first responders, community organizations, law enforcement, schools, NGOs, and counselors that provide critical services and humanitarian aid in our communities. Their trained canine teams offer respite, stress relief, and support to our employees. They use evidence-based methods developed by the US Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, and the positive impact their canine teams can have on those in lifesaving roles has been proven.

On December 23rd and 26th, Associate Vice Presidents of Nursing Joanie Madalone, DNP, MS, RN, MHCDS, CCRN, NE-BC and Joseph DiMartino, RN MSN, NE-BC, CCRN rounded with John Hunt, co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of NATIONAL Crisis Response Canines and Crisis Response Canines Arlo, Axel, Ivan, and Jolene. They visited multiple units on TUH-Main Campus, bringing stress release—and joy—to our team members. Check out the photos from their visits, and see our staff enjoying special moments with their canine visitors!
