Diana Leslie, PCA earned the December 2024 BEE Award at TUH-Jeanes Campus. Diana, who works in our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit, was singled out for her positive attitude, dedication to her patients, and tremendous kindness. Read this excerpt from her nomination to learn why Diana is such a wonderful member of our team:
“I was so impressed by your boundless energy and incredible dedication. You walked with a pep in your step, graced us with your beautiful singing voice, and always approached your patients with your infectious smile and empathy. You carefully plucked my hair from my fuzzy blanket and pillowcase to support my decision to slowly let my hair fall out over the course of my chemo treatment. You planted a seed when you asked me, “When are you going to write your book?” That opened my mind to the possibility that telling my patient story could be a path of healing not only for me, but for others going through a medical condition so life-changing. Your act of kindness is very much noticed and appreciated by me.”
The BEE (Being Extraordinary Everyday) Award—a compliment to the DAISY Award—recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary work of nursing support staff. The BEE Award was created because, in nature, bees are loyal, hardworking, and can’t exist without the daisy, and the daisy can’t exist without bees.
Diana, this award is in appreciation for all you do, and for the meaningful difference you make in the lives of many by going above and BEE-yond!
