Temple Family Medicine-Old Bustleton physician Betsy Benjamin, MD, MBA recently received the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED)’s Everyday Hero Award, which recognizes those whose commitment, compassion, and resilience serve as the foundation of exceptional care and community well-being.
“We celebrate Dr. Benjamin’s impact and express our gratitude for [our winners’] unwavering service,” PAMED said. “Their compassion, resilience, and dedication are the cornerstones of exceptional healthcare and the well-being of our communities. Whether comforting a patient in their most vulnerable moment, mentoring the next generation of physicians, or advocating for the needs of their profession, these physicians embody the very best of medicine.”
Dr. Benjamin was nominated by a physician colleague, Bereket Tewoldemedhin, MD, who said that if he had to describe her in one word, it would be “dedicated.” “She goes above and beyond to provide excellent care to each patient,” he explained. “She is articulate and extremely well-mannered, even in the most stressful situations.”
PAMED emphasized these qualities in their award letter. “Your selfless commitment to care and unwavering service inspires us all, and we celebrate you for the profound difference you make in the lives of so many,” they wrote. “Congratulations!”
