Getting into the Carnival Spirit with Patient Access Week Events

View All News

Our Patient Access team members are some of the first Temple employees patients see when entering our hospitals—and as Gilda C. Chinnici, CHAM, CCP, Senior Director of Patient Access, explains, their importance can’t be overstated.

“Their expertise in communications and management is invaluable in ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care and support,” she says. “Because of their hard work and commitment, Temple patients have seamless access to healthcare services.”

To thank our Patient Access team for their invaluable contributions, we celebrate the National Association of Healthcare Access Management’s Patient Access Week each year in early April. Patient Access at Temple Health-Main Campus is famous for their over-the-top themed events, but this year, Patient Access leadership decided to expand the celebration to all of our campuses.

“This decision reflects our commitment to honoring the invaluable contributions of Patient Access professionals across our entire organization,” Chinnici says. Each team member received a purple t-shirt, which you can see them proudly sporting in the collages below. And while the scale of the celebration was significantly larger, there was still the same dedication to the theme—which, this year, was carnival.

“We embraced the carnival theme with enthusiasm and creativity, and the results were truly spectacular,” Chinnici says. “From special recognition awards for our dedicated staff to daily treats like Yum Yum donuts, pretzels, water ice, and lollipops, each day was filled with laughter, joy, and delicious surprises.”

“The highlight of the week was undoubtedly seeing the smiles on the faces of our staff and patients alike as they enjoyed the festivities,” she continues. “From carnival games and activities to photo opportunities and more, the spirit of celebration was profound."
