Gregory Slater Honored with the August 2024 Service Excellence Employee of the Month Award at TUH-Main Campus

Gregory Slater, an Escort Attendant in Patient Transportation, received TUH-Main Campus’ Service Excellence Employee of the Month Award for August 2024. Slater was recognized for his exceptionally positive attitude and his commitment to brightening the day of everyone he meets. He represents the very best of Temple, as this excerpt from his nomination shows:

“Gregory embodies all the qualities of service excellence every day. He makes sure to greet everyone—patients and staff—even if he is not working directly with them. He goes out of his way to interact with people and to make them feel special, wanted, valued, and appreciated. He makes it his job to provide the Temple experience and greets everyone just as we describe here. He takes ownership and leads by example in his department to make sure that he is avoiding waste and assisting patients as efficiently as possible. He is always willing to lend a hand and stay active while taking on a new task or learning something new, both at work and in his free time. When he is assigned to a job, you know that quality and patient safety will be maintained. He can make a bad day seem a little brighter for our patients, and he is an asset to Temple!”

Slater and his colleagues celebrate his achievement.

The Service Excellence Award is given out monthly at TUH-Main Campus. The award is an opportunity to identify, recognize, and reward employees who embody our service excellence standards. Recipients are selected by the Patient Experience voting committee based on nominations from patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, co-workers, and staff. 

Honorees are presented with a certificate and gift, free parking for a month, and a complementary professional headshot placed in a plaque on the Service Excellence Awards wall.
