Our team members at Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital go above and beyond to provide exceptional care. That’s why we thought we’d take a look back at the last 12 months of DAISY and Mountain Laurel Award winners and nominees on campus.
The DAISY Award was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away from an autoimmune disease. The Barnes family was grateful for the clinical skills, caring, and compassion of the nurses who treated Patrick, and created this international recognition to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
The Mountain Laurel Award was awarded to Chestnut Hill Hospital team members who have demonstrated extra special care for patients or families dealing with illness. TH-CHH will be replacing the Mountain Laurel Award with the Daisy Foundation’s “Daisy Bee” program, which recognizes non-nursing colleagues who support patient care. This will be another way to single out extraordinary staff who do all they can for patients and family members.
