Billy Penn, NBC10 and WHYY Highlight Temple University Hospital Becoming the First Hospital in Philadelphia to Adopt the Irth App for Yelp-like Reviews and Ratings of OB-GYNs and Other Staff

View All News

Temple University Hospital will be the first hospital in Philadelphia to adopt the Irth app. Irth – “birth without the B” for Bias – is a free app that allows people to leave immediate Yelp-like reviews and ratings of OB-GYNs, pediatricians, nurses and other staff they encounter. It is aimed at improving prenatal and postpartum care for families of color. Billy Penn interviewed Gail M. Herrine, MD, FACOG, IBCLC, FABM, Professor of Clinical Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Medical Director of Post-Partum at Temple University Hospital, and Saleemah McNeil, CEO of the Oshun Family Center, who is helping implement Irth at Temple, as part of a story. The news was also featured on NBC10 and WHYY.
