Temple University Health System’s preparations for and treatment of patients amidst the coronavirus pandemic continue to be part of the media’s COVID-19 coverage.

  • Aroonsiri Howell, MD, MPH, FACP, Associate Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, spoke with the Philadelphia Inquirer about reasons why senior citizens in the city may not be receiving their COVID-19 booster shots. Barriers may include lack of internet access, transportation concerns, or impairment in function or cognition.
  • 6ABC interviewed Delana Wardlaw, MD, who practices at Temple Physicians, Inc. at Nicetown, for a segment on monoclonal antibody treatments for COVID-19. Dr. Wardlaw discussed who the treatments are geared for and emphasized they are not meant as a substitute for vaccination. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced that it was pulling authorization for two of the monoclonal antibody treatments for COVID-19 as they were shown to be ineffective against the Omicron variant.
