Cherie P. Erkmen, MD, Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery and Professor in the Center for Asian Health at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program and the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program at Temple University Hospital, served as a panelist for the Society of Thoracic Surgeons webinar: “How to Start a Surgeon-Led Lung Cancer Screening Program.” The multidisciplinary panel from high-volume centers with successful screening programs discussed building a team and infrastructure, overcoming barriers, and conducting community outreach, among other topics.
