David Koren, PharmD, BCPS, AAHIVP, Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Infectious Diseases at Temple University Hospital, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Temple University School of Pharmacy, was interviewed by Healio’s Infectious Disease News about a retrospective cohort study he was part of that looked at the effect of antiretroviral therapy (ART) stewardship teams. Dr. Koren and the research team found that the program improved patient safety and care and saved money. The stewardship teams included an HIV pharmacist specialist, infectious diseases physicians and “associated learners.” The findings were published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
