Fredric Jaffe, DO, FCCP, FAASM, Professor of Clinical Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Director of the Pulmonary Function Testing and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Temple University Hospital and Medical Director of the Temple Sleep Center at Oaks, spoke with WHYY about the recent recall of certain BiPAP, CPAP and ventilator machines manufactured by Philips Respironics. The devices are used to treat sleep apnea and respiratory failure. Dr. Jaffe shared that patients who are affected by the recall should contact their physicians for further guidance.
