On August 10, Temple University Hospital became the first U.S. center to perform bronchoscopic lung volume reduction using implantation of the Zephyr® Endobronchial Valve (Zephyr® EBV®) to treat severe emphysema following U.S. FDA approval. Criner, MD, FACP, FACCP, Chair and Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Temple Lung Center, and his Lung Center team completed the 45-minute procedure.
