Dr. Lawrence Kaplan Provides Perspective for Medscape Article on Study about Variability in Antimicrobial Prescribing, Patient Characteristics and Clinical Outcomes

Lawrence Kaplan, MD, FACP, Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education and Interim Section Chief of General Internal Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided perspective for a Medscape article about a multicenter study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. The study found that variability in antimicrobial prescribing among hospital-based physicians is not associated with patient characteristics or clinical outcomes. Dr. Kaplan was not involved in the study.
