Lawrence Kaplan, MD, FACP, Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education and Interim Section Chief of General Internal Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided perspective for a Medscape article about a multicenter study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. The study found that variability in antimicrobial prescribing among hospital-based physicians is not associated with patient characteristics or clinical outcomes.
