Dr. Riyaz Bashir Describes How the Bashir Endovascular Catheter Attacks Blood Clots

View All News

Ivanhoe Broadcast News produced a segment about the Bashir Endovascular Catheter, which was granted premarket notification clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this year. The catheter is cleared for the controlled and selective infusion of fluids, including clot-dissolving medications, into the veins and arteries of the peripheral vasculature. It was invented by Riyaz Bashir, MD, FACC, RVT, Director of Vascular and Endovascular Medicine at Temple University Hospital and Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), and Nicholas Green, Director of Research & Development at Thrombolex, Inc. Dr. Bashir was interviewed for the piece, as was William R. Auger, MD, Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at LKSOM. The segment was picked up by WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee.
