Terry Heiman-Patterson, MD, Professor of Neurology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, offered insight to Reuters Health about a study published in Nature Medicine that increases in brain perivascular fibroblasts and their protein SPP1 may better predict life expectancy in patients with sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.
