Val Rakita, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided perspective to Medscape about the first randomized clinical trial of remote pulmonary artery pressure-guided monitoring and management of chronic heart failure in Europe. The data showed the CardioMEMS-HF system used in the trial, called MONITOR-HF, substantially improved quality of life and reduced heart failure hospitalizations. Dr. Rakita was not involved with the study.
