Victor Kim, MD, Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Pulmonary Outpatient Clinic at Temple University Hospital, provided perspective for a Healio Pulmonology article about a research letter published in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society which found that former smokers with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who experienced exacerbations had larger lung density declines than those without exacerbations.
