William Van Decker, MD, Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided comments for an article on TCTMD.com on the prices released for the first 10 prescription medications subject to negotiations between drugmakers and Medicare. The lower prices will take effect for patients with Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage in January 2026 and include commonly used medications that treat conditions such as diabetes, heart failure, chronic kidney disease, peripheral artery disease, psoriasis and blood cancers.
