Zehra Dhanani, MD, a second-year fellow in pulmonary and critical care at Temple University Hospital, shared insight with Healio Pulmonology on her abstract presented at the 2024 ATS International Conference showing text message-based education can be used as an innovative learning tool in a fast-paced clinical environment. Dr. Dhanani’s abstract, which won the Innovations of the Year award by the Innovations in Fellowship Education Working Group, showed educational texts can boost physicians’ confidence in treating tobacco use disorder, an area identified as lacking in clinician training.
