Scientists at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) have received a $100,000 donation from the nonprofit organization Stop Alzheimer’s Now to study whether the inhibition of a specific protein in the brain can stimulate neurogenesis. Domenico Praticó, MD, the Scott Richards North Star Charitable Foundation Chair for Alzheimer’s Research; Professor and Director of the Alzheimer’s Center at Temple; and Professor of Pharmacology, Microbiology and Immunology at LKSOM, will lead the efforts. The Central Record/South Jersey Local News, Bioengineer.org and Scienmag covered the announcement.
