AuntMinnie.com highlighted a study published in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology which showed virtual reality-based sedation during interventional radiology procedures reduces patient pain and anxiety and appears to do so without increasing procedure time. Hillel S. Maresky, MD, Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, is the principal investigator, and Katz School of Medicine student Ryan Schaake is first author on the paper.
