In new research published online in the journal Molecular Therapy, Shuxin Li, MD, PhD, Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Professor in the Shriners Hospitals Pediatric Research Center, and colleagues show that gains in functional recovery from spinal cord or optic nerve injury may be possible due to a molecule known as Lin28, which regulates cell growth. Dr. Li is the senior investigator on the study. Scienmag, Medical Xpress, NeuroscienceNews.com, ScienceDaily, and other media outlets reported on the findings.
