Media Outlets Highlight New Research from Dr. Sara Jane Ward and Lewis Katz School of Medicine Colleagues on Novel CBD Analog

Studies have shown that cannabidiol (CBD) reduces pain sensation in animals, but its ability to do so in humans is limited by low bioavailability, the extent to which the drug successfully reaches its site of action. Now, new work by Sara Jane Ward, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, and colleagues suggests this obstacle may be overcome by a novel CBD analog known as KLS-13019. The findings were published online in the British Journal of Pharmacology. Dr. Ward is the senior investigator on the study. Outlets including PhillyVoice, Medical Xpress, ScienceDaily and News-Medical.net highlighted the research.
