Jessica Pfleger, PhD, Instructor in the Center for Translational Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), and LKSOM colleagues are the first to show that a key molecular regulator in the heart known as Fox01 attaches to and activates a wide array of genes in heart cells, leading to widespread increases in growth signaling, specifically within the heart. The findings were published online in the journal Circulation and highlighted in outlets including Bioengineer.org, Scienmag, Medical Xpress, and News-Medical.net.
