Research conducted by Catherine Vanchiere, MD, third-year internal medicine resident at Temple University Hospital, and colleagues and published online in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that the more fires a firefighter fought per year, the higher risk of atrial fibrillation (AFib), an irregular heartbeat.
