The Philadelphia Citizen examined the impact that Oakland CeaseFire has had in its community as part of an article on how to reduce gun violence in Philadelphia. The Citizen advocated for the implementation of a similar citywide program and specifically mentioned Philadelphia CeaseFire, a public health violence intervention program based in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Center for Bioethics, Urban Health and Policy. Philadelphia CeaseFire is one of the national replication sites of the Cure Violence public health model.
