A Philadelphia Inquirer article highlighted the involvement and leadership of Temple Health in caring for patients in Sierra Leone following a tanker truck explosion on November 5th. Maura Sammon, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, and Lisa Rae, MD, FACS, Associate Professor of Surgery at the Katz School of Medicine and Director of the Temple Burn Center at Temple University Hospital, along with a Temple team that includes: Jessica L. Patterson, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Katz School of Medicine; Lori Rhodes, MD, Surgery Resident at TUH; Stephanie Velez Watson, PT, DPT, CWS, Physical Therapist and Wound Care Specialist at TUH; and TUH nurses Elizabeth Leitch, Gideon Agyenim-Boateng, Kati Marie Ehrgott and Richard Arbour; have been providing care for those who’ve been injured.
