Philadelphia Magazine Interviews Lewis Katz School of Medicine Students, Staff about the Shortage of Black Men in Medicine

The Office of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (OHEDI) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) recently hosted the 2019 Black Men in Medicine Symposium, as well as “An Evening for Black Men in Medicine.” The events addressed the national decline in the number of black men entering the medical profession. Philadelphia magazine interviewed Gabrielle Clark, Senior Coordinator of Diversity and Inclusion at LKSOM; second-year medical student Sean V. Brown; first-year medical student Cameron Rutledge; and Keneolisa Ogamba, a research coordinator in the Center for Urban Bioethics at LKSOM who will begin medical school there next fall.
