Scott Charles, Trauma Outreach Manager at Temple University Hospital, joined WURD Radio to discuss Temple’s Safe Bet program, which gives out free gun locks – no questions asked. Last week in Philadelphia, a 14-year-old found an unsecured gun and accidentally shot his 2-year-old cousin, who was fatally wounded. The segment starts at 21:13 and runs to 35:35. Scott was also interviewed by 6ABC and KYW Newsradio during National Night Out on August 1st, which is an annual event that focuses on building stronger relationships between police officers and their community. Scott was at the 22nd District’s event handing out free gun locks.
