The Scranton Times-Tribune shared the story of patient Steven White, who was diagnosed with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) last fall and was referred to Temple University Hospital. After being transferred by helicopter to Temple, Steven underwent a 10-hour surgery a few days later, where he had 15 blood clots removed from around his heart, 45 from his lungs and more from the rest of his body. He also had a heart valve replaced that had been affected by the clots. Steven has since returned home, where he is continuing to recover.
