Claire Raab, MD, President and CEO of Temple Faculty Physicians, conducted a live interview with FOX29’s “Good Day Philadelphia” detailing a program launched by Temple Health in collaboration with Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University to improve access to screening for colorectal cancer, which disproportionately affects Black Americans. The project brings free stool-based fecal immunochemical test (FIT) kits to the community – making them available at grocery stores, neighborhood events, even the hospital lobby. The project has distributed nearly 1,000 kits in about seven months. Dr. Raab also highlighted a free event at Temple University Hospital’s Boyer Pavilion on March 28th that will feature a giant inflatable colon; information about colorectal cancer, prevention and treatment; and more free FIT kits.
