The Philadelphia Inquirer Recognizes the Contributions of the Late Dr. Carson Schneck

Carson D. Schneck, MD, PhD, who taught gross anatomy, histology, embryology and neuroanatomy to more than 10,000 medical students at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University for over 52 years, passed away on November 7th at the age of 88. The Philadelphia Inquirer published an obituary of Dr. Schneck, who was recognized with many awards over the years, including the 1988 Alpha Omega Alpha Distinguished Teacher’s Award, Temple’s Great Teacher Award and more than a dozen Golden Apple awards. In 2009, the gross anatomy laboratory at the new Medical Education and Research Building opened as the Carson D. Schneck Gross Anatomy Laboratory, and the Carson Schneck, MD, PhD Endowed Scholarship Fund was created.
