Julia Grachevskaya, OD, Optometrist and member of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, was honored with the September 2024 Temple Faculty Physicians (TFP) Physician Kudos Award. Dr. Grachevskaya was nominated by her colleague Jeffrey D. Henderer, MD, Dr. Edward Hagop Bedrossian Chair and Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology, who wrote:
“Dr. Grachevskaya has been an Optometrist in our department for more than 10 years. She has been a stalwart, taking care of thousands of patients a year, including many of their families. More recently, she has become our leading diabetic retinopathy screening image reader, participated in our screening research trials, and provided key human intelligence feedback to the artificial intelligence company that handles our screenings. Beyond that, Julia has been a critical part of absorbing new patients into the practice and both caring for them and getting them to other providers if needed. For being the ultimate team player and a do-it-all doc, I’d like to nominate her for the Kudos award!”
