Ask a Temple Health team member what their goal is in the workplace, and there’s a good chance they’ll mention the word “quality.” That’s what drives us here at Temple: a desire to provide the highest-quality care.
But what does “quality” actually mean to each of us, and how do we work towards improving it every day? As we observe Quality Week (October 21st-25th) across Temple Health, we wanted to ask that question of the employees responsible for enhancing quality throughout the Health System: our Performance Improvement teams.
Each day, we’ll be publishing a feature on the Performance Improvement team on one particular campus. We’re starting with the staff at TUH-Main Campus, led by Mark Meyers, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, Vice President of Performance Excellence.
“To me and my team, healthcare quality consists of providing care to patients in a manner that is safe, effective, and efficient to meet the needs of the community,” Meyers says.
“The most satisfying part of working in quality is giving back to our community by providing the people around us with the safest and most efficient care possible,” Meyers continues. “It’s especially rewarding to focus on improving glycemic care and survivorship.”
