Leapfrog has designated Temple University Hospital a Top Teaching Hospital with its 2021 Leapfrog Top Hospital Award for Outstanding Quality and Safety.
The selection standards for this award were rigorous. To qualify, hospitals must rank near the top among peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital quality and patient safety performance. Leapfrog looked at the quality of patient care across many areas of performance, including surgery, maternity care, infection rates, and prevention of medical errors. Less than 7% of eligible hospitals earn the Top Hospitals distinction: over 2,200 hospitals nationwide were considered for the award and only 149 hospitals—including 72 teaching hospitals—were selected.

Last month, Temple University Hospital earned an “A” Grade from The Leapfrog Group, on its fall 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report—for the third time in a row—because of the Temple team’s success at delivering dependable care, preventing errors, and achieving high standards of patient safety.
