Mental Health Technician Matt Bair was recently honored with TUH-Episcopal Campus’ Exceptional Employee Award. Bair was singled out for his exceptional attention to patients’ needs, and his commitment to making sure their concerns are heard and their requests are fulfilled. Read this excerpt from Bair’s nomination:
“I was stopped in the hallway today by a patient on my unit who wanted to commend a Mental Health Technician named Matt Bair. Matt stood out to this patient because he gave him an opportunity to express himself religiously in a respectful, tasteful, and culturally-sound way after a group activity. This is one of many examples I have seen while Matt has worked on my floor where he has gone above and beyond to make sure patients feel heard and advocated for them to have their needs met. Even if I am not here, Matt will make sure he follows up with me about concerns patients raise during the community meeting he holds. He has sought out guidance on particular patients’ cases and has shown a real interest in helping our patient population. Compassion cannot be taught in a classroom, and I believe that Matt has a true passion for helping our patients, and should be recognized for what he does for them while he is here at work.”
