Max Manetta, MPH, with his Manager of the Quarter Award.

Max Manetta, MPH, Administrative Director of Laboratory Services, is an "all in" leader who steps up to the challenge of delivering high-quality laboratory services throughout Temple Health. Having served in the role of the interim lead for Temple Health Laboratory Services not once, but twice, in the last several years, Max continues to demonstrate his commitment to Temple and our mission with grace and wisdom.

Available to problem-solve at all hours and any day, Max is thorough in his understanding of laboratory systems. When he doesn’t have a solution at the ready, he is quick to pull in the appropriate people and resources to get a problem solved and/or make a recommendation as to the best path forward.

Importantly, Max anticipates potential problems and pitfalls and comes to senior leadership proactively prepared with alternative solutions to deal with the "just in case" issues that arise in a technologically-complex environment.

Max understands the need to steward resources wisely. This includes the large capital planning for expenditures inherent in the delivery of a large and complex lab service delivery system within our multi-campus enterprise. He is attuned to balancing timely service delivery and test results, while managing staffing challenges in a competitive regional labor environment.

Max is a team builder. He knows his people and brings out the best in the group’s performance. This is best exemplified by Temple’s recent successful College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation.

In addition to his day-to-day duties, in his interim role, he successfully spearheaded a major update to our key analytic systems.

Max leads by example, personally pitching in on the lab floor when an issue would benefit from his knowledge, or showing support to the staff directly. He is always willing to lend a hand inside and outside the lab to improve care.

Max exemplifies the best of the best in his commitment to personal and professional integrity, with excellence and high moral standards as his "true north."
