Temple University Health System (TUHS) and Aetna, a CVS Health business, have reached agreement on a multi-year contract extension, effective May 1, 2019.
Under the agreement, members of all major Aetna commercial and Medicare plans will be able to continue to receive covered services, at in-network rates, from TUHS hospitals and physicians in the greater Philadelphia area. TUHS will now also be participating in Aetna’s Medicare Advantra plan.

Kaiser, MD, FACS, President & CEO of Temple University Health System, the Lewis Katz Dean at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Senior Executive Vice President for Health Affairs at Temple University.
“This new agreement expands the size of our value-based purchasing programs, allows for investments in key areas for growth and quality, and of course allows Temple’s hospitals and physicians to continue to provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to Aetna members throughout the region,” Kaiser added.
