Temple University Hospital-Main Campus has been named one of the 148 Best U.S. Hospitals according to the first shared ranking of Money magazine and the Leapfrog Group. TUH-Main Campus is the only hospital in Philadelphia and one of only 10 hospitals in Pennsylvania represented on the list.
“This recognition demonstrates our dedication to safe, high-quality care,” said Abhinav Rastogi, MBA, MIS, President and CEO of Temple University Hospital and Executive Vice President of Temple Health. “The hard work of our employees once again places Temple in elite company.”
To compile the new list of the top hospitals in the country in partnership with Money, the Leapfrog Group used data from 39 performance measures related to inpatient care management, complex surgeries, medication safety, maternity care, outpatient procedures, infections and pediatric care.
Hospitals were eligible for the list if they earned an “A” on the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report for fall 2021 and were also required to meet a qualitative assessment of excellence. Leapfrog then applied additional criteria related to safe medication ordering practices, intensive care unit staffing, response to “never event” medical errors and performance related to heart surgeries, bariatric surgery, hip replacements and lung cancer surgeries.
