Temple University Hospital has been selected to join the Perinatal Research Consortium (PRC), a network of healthcare institutions with the shared goal of using collaboration to develop and perform the highest quality research in perinatal and women’s health, and serving as a valuable research resource for individual researchers, institutions and industries.
“Temple is proud to be selected as a member of the Perinatal Research Consortium,” says Laura Goetzl, MD, MPH, Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Temple University Hospital. “We look forward to collaborating with the other member institutions in the years ahead to conduct research that we hope will translate into new technologies and evidence-based treatment practices that improve the health of women and their infants.”
By leveraging relationships that expand opportunities for innovation and discovery, the Consortium’s member institutions are able to accomplish much more together than they would be able to accomplish individually. This level of collaboration has helped bring the PRC to the forefront of perinatal and women’s health research by expanding the diversity and volume of patients, training and developing research scientists and promoting a culture where research is an expected part of patient care. The PRC was founded in 2005 and now consists of nine centers.
