Patrick O’Connor, CNA received the November 2024 BEE Award at TUH-Jeanes Campus. Patrick earned the award because of the kindness he shows to patients, and the extra effort he puts in to ensure they feel comfortable and safe. Read this excerpt from his nomination to learn why Patrick is such an exceptional team member:
“A patient on 3C was anxious about having an MRI and was experiencing panic attacks while waiting for the test. Patrick comforted the patient by talking to her and holding her hand. He accompanied the patient while she was transported to the MRI department. Patrick asked the MRI staff to notify him when the test was completed. He met the patient after the test and accompanied her back to the unit. The patient was extremely grateful for Patrick’s care, concern, and presence.”
The BEE (Being Extraordinary Everyday) Award—a compliment to the DAISY Award—recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary work of nursing support staff. The BEE Award was created because, in nature, bees are loyal, hardworking, and can’t exist without the daisy, and the daisy can’t exist without bees.
Patrick, this award is in appreciation for all you do, and for the meaningful difference you make in the lives of many by going above and BEE-yond!
