After the success of the first Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital bake-off contest, we knew we had to hold another—and what better occasion to enjoy a sweet treat than Valentine’s Day?
That’s why we scheduled the second bake-off contest—aka “Love from First Bite”—for February 14th, and asked our contestants to impress us with their best Valentine’s Day cookies! There were seven entries, including brown butter snickerdoodles, sourdough chocolate cookies, and chocolate strawberry shortbread.
The previous contest’s winner, Executive Assistant Betty Shannon, joined the judging panel this time around. She and our six other judges picked our first prize winner: Assistant Secretary to the Associate General Counsel Tausha Saunders and her empire biscuits!
Saunders used her mother-in-law’s recipe to make the biscuits, which were filled with jam and topped with glazed cherry. And—in a perfect Valentine’s Day touch—they were also heart-shaped!
