Temple Pharmacy Residency Programs

Temple University Health System (TUHS) 

TUHS is a multiple site health system comprised of 6 campuses throughout the Philadelphia region including: Temple University Hospital – Main Campus (TUH-MC), Jeanes Campus (TUH-JC), Episcopal Campus (TUH-EC), Northeastern Campus (NEC), Temple Health – Chestnut Hill Hospital (TH-CHH), and Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC). The PGY1, PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant, & PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency program’s primary site is TUH-MC with elective opportunities at Jeanes Campus.

Deborah joins us from Einstein Health Network, where she has over 20 years of leadership experience, including enhancing pharmacy practice roles, developing innovative medication safety practices, and expanding medication access to safety net patients. She most recently served as Network Pharmacy Director of Outpatient & Inpatient Pharmacies, where she achieved dual URAC/ACHC accreditation of Einstein’s Center One specialty pharmacy, and successfully oversaw the institution’s 340B program. 

Deborah also developed Einstein’s award-winning best-practice Medication REACH program and Medication Management in Care Transitions program, launched an IRB study on the use of smartphones and a provider-based app to monitor medication adherence in discharge patients, and developed a new clinical specialty pharmacy practice role of a Hepatitis C Pharmacist in the Ambulatory Care setting. 

Joining Temple as Chief Pharmacy Officer is a ‘full circle’ moment for Deborah, as she earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Temple University School of Pharmacy, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Temple University. She also received a Master of Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s University.

Temple University Hospital — Main Campus

TUH is one of the region's most respected academic medical centers. The 576-bed academic medical center is the chief clinical training site for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. TUH is also one of the few Level 1 Trauma Centers and Burn Centers in the Philadelphia area and is certified as a primary stroke center by the Joint Commission. Additionally, TUH has renowned services including a “Best Practice” lung center, solid organ transplant programs, and six intensive care units.   

TUH has been recognized among the best in the region by US News & World Report and was recently awarded the American Stroke Association's Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. As the tertiary care cornerstone of Temple Health, TUH is committed to excellence in patient care, research, and training. 

Temple University Hospital — Jeanes Campus

Jeanes Campus is a 175-bed community hospital located in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Jeanes offers a broad range of services including bone marrow transplant, as well as being a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center.

Pharmacy care at Jeanes Campus is an award-winning service with an impressive array of pharmacy-based therapeutic protocols. 

Temple University School of Pharmacy 

Temple University School of Pharmacy provides the environment to achieve excellence and opportunity in education, research, and practice. The partnership between Temple University Health System and the School of Pharmacy permits opportunities for residents to benefit from the clinical expertise of faculty and develop precepting and teaching skills through recitation, lecture, and clinical rounds with the School of Pharmacy students.
