Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) Symptoms

In its early stages, PAH does not always produce symptoms. As the condition gets worse, symptoms can include:

  • Shortness of breath — at first during exercise, and eventually while at rest
  • Tiredness
  • Fainting or near fainting with exertion
  • Pain or pressure in the chest with exertion
  • Swelling in legs, ankles and/or abdomen
  • Blue tint to the skin and/or lips
  • Heart palpitations
  • Rapid pulse
