The symptoms of pulmonary sarcoidosis depend on where the granulomas are growing. However, early symptoms are often the same regardless of where the sarcoidosis is centered. These symptoms include:

- Weight loss
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Fever
Symptoms of sarcoidosis in the lungs include:
- Shortness of breath
- Wheezing
- Persistent dry cough
- Chest pain
Symptoms of sarcoidosis that affect the skin include:
- Sores on the cheeks, ears, and nose
- A rash made up of red or purple bumps, usually located on the ankles or shins. The rash may be tender or warm to the touch
- Growths underneath the skin (nodules). These occur most often around scars or tattoos
- Areas of skin that are lighter or darker
When sarcoidosis affects the eyes, it may not cause any symptoms. However, when eye-related symptoms do occur, they can include:
- Eye pain
- Blurred vision
- Sensitivity to light
- Severe redness
