patient with two medical professionals

Temple’s Advanced Heart Failure Program is focused on patients with end-stage heart failure who have developed serious symptoms despite medical management. Because advanced heart failure can lead to life-threatening conditions, it’s important for patients to seek care from a center with the knowledge, experience and technology to offer the most sophisticated treatments.

Patients at our center have access to:

  • State-of-the-art diagnosis, monitoring and treatment approaches. These include medical therapy, mechanical devices, and surgical approaches such as heart transplant, ventricular assist devices (VADs) and the CardioMEMS™ Heart Failure (HF) System.
  • Academic and research programs that are the driving force behind many medical advances in the advanced heart failure field. From surgical procedures, new transplantation techniques and stem cell and gene therapies, we’re dedicated to advancing care for patients with heart failure.
  • Focused attention on some of the most challenging cases of advanced heart failure, including end-stage heart failure, with expanded heart transplant list criteria to help even more patients qualify for these life-saving surgeries.
  • Multi-specialty team that continually strives to improve the lives of our patients through clinical innovation. Comprised of advanced heart failure cardiologists, cardiovascular imaging specialists, cardiovascular surgeons, nurses, transplant coordinators, VAD coordinators, exercise physiologists and social workers, this dedicated team provides individualized treatment approaches based on each patient’s unique situation.
