Fellowship Program Update: Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Temple University Hospital’s Pulmonary and Critical Care (PCC) Medicine fellowship is one of largest fellowship programs of its kind in the nation. After the closure of Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia in August 2019, Temple applied for the permanent funding of 10 fellowship slots transferred from the Drexel PCC fellowship program. A few months later, Temple was awarded all 10 positions by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). We currently have 28 PCC fellows and will grow to 30 by 2023.

In Summer 2022 we will graduate 11 fellows—our largest fellowship class to date—and we will welcome 10 new fellows: 5 men and 5 women.

To better meet the needs of our fellows and the expansion of our program, we renovated the offices on the 7th floor of the Parkinson Pavilion last summer, creating new office and meeting spaces, as well as an imaging reading room and break room.
