Temple’s Interstitial Lung Disease Program manages patient diagnosis and care using a multidisciplinary approach that draws on the expertise of specialists who focus on different aspects of care, from thoracic surgeons to radiologists and pulmonologists.

Once a diagnosis has been made by the multidisciplinary committee, treatment begins. Temple offers the following treatments to ILD patients:

• Medications (including nintedanib and pirfenidone in patients with IPF)
• Pulmonary rehabilitation
• Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
• Navigational bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy (EBUS)
• Standard bronchoscopy with or without transbronchial biopsy
